This past week….

Birthday morning for my Birthday Girl. Y’all…. mah bay-bee turned 14 on Monday. I just don’t understand how that happened. I blame it on New Math.

morning

Grits, fried corn and jalapeños with a fried egg and cheese. Birthday dinner.

Girl Wonder requested Birthday Cobbler. I grabbed some peaches from the freezer, twirled around 3 times, sprinkled fairy dust and … voila! Birthday Cobbler.

I made homemade pop-tarts. Because it was sunny and because I can. And because I’ve been reading the Homemade Pantry

I finally got to eat at Sloco.

Bright walls and pretty windows. A great spot to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Oh… and the food. Epic good. Fresh. To the brim with flavor. Locally sourced. Win. Win. Win.

You have a wonderful eye and the adept ability to caption with a whimsical yet touching manner. Love those stolen moments I can spend catching up with you and sharing tales of Chic-dom! However, I do have those thoughts following that acknowledge my days of long ago when I had (sometimes) meaningful creative expression. I thought I would be able to recapture by now. Alas….

You, my dear friend, are a bedazzled, sparkly, living example of creative expression! Besides, one cannot navigate twin teenaged girls without some heaping dose of creativity.
