Quick and Tasty Lemonade

When the asphalt is melting underneath your feet, sweat is dripping down your sunburned brow, you’ll want a tall, cold glass of lemonade to cool you down.

Here’s a super quick lemonade recipe courtesy of my Chicken Farmer.

Start with a lemon. Duh. And a blender.

lemonade

Cut the lemon into pieces. Throw the whole shebang into the blender with a 1/2 cup of water. We’re making concentrate here.

Pulverize that sucker (Get it? Lemon? Sucker?). Blend until you don’t have any big chunks.

Pour the concentrate through a strainer to get out any large pieces of pulp or seed.

I happened to make this at beach without a strainer in sight. Coffee filters work in a pinch.

Grab a pitcher. Pour in your concentrate and about 4 cups of water and 1/2 cup of sugar. More or less to make your taste buds smile.

lemonade

Light. Bright lemon taste. Hint of sweet. The only puckering you’ll do will be to smooch the lemonade maker.

Not being a lemonade lover, it took some cajoling (and an iota of guilting) for me to taste this concoction.  VERY refreshing!  Appreciate the instructions but would like it even more if the cook would come to my house daily to prepare it.  (Not that the recipe is difficult – I just enjoy spending time with this particular chef!)

If’n you moved to Nashvegas, you might could talk the chef into making you a daily batch.
